Randi Brandt – Persistence To Close 40 Transactions Through Health Challenges

Please introduce yourself.

Randi Brandt, Adroit Realty with Keller Williams Lakeside. Solo agent, $10,000,000 annual producer averaging 40 deals per year. Launching an commercial team within the company in January 2023 to build the investment side of the business. Currently helping clients in Michigan, Ohio and Florida while providing referrals throughout the country.

How did you get started in the real estate business?

Began in real estate December 2016 after selling my event design and coordination business. I had noticed that the leaders of the modern day had one thing in common, real estate.

How do you source your real estate deals?

Relationships I have built throughout the last 5 years along with treating my clients as more than a name on a spreadsheet has kept me top of mind for my clients.

Randi Brandt Dawn Burdick

What are some checks and balances you’ve put in place to protect your real estate transactions?

You have to think two steps ahead. Anticipating any hiccups and being able to have a contingency in place is how I earn the trust of my clients and they continue to hire me to represent them. They hire and expect me to make it a smooth transaction, from the negotiating, inspections, surveys, estoppel, tenant contact to the closing table and then after they either take ownership or give it up.

What is one piece of advice you would give someone starting their real estate career?

Be a sponge. Learn from those who are successful and established in the business. Remove any and all ego. Learn every aspect of the transaction. My first year in the business I closed 39 transactions, none of which were over $35,000. I learned my clients’ budget, costs of rehab and would be able to walk into a SFR and within $5,000 know the price it would cost to get the property income producing.

What is one software you use for your business and recommend to others?

Any CRM system. Keep yourself organized from the beginning.

What is your superpower in life?

My superpower is to push through. 14 months into the business I went into liver and kidney failure. I ended up in the hospital for 60 days. During that stay I also suffered a spinal stroke. I was 32 years old and told I would never walk again. With determination, grit and some stubbornness, I walked without assistance 6 months after I was told I would never be able to do so. I ran my business from my hospital room, I never stopped. It wasn’t until I was placed into the ICU that my clients found out I was even sick. Through all of that, I still closed 40 transactions and 5M in sales.

What is a failure you’ve had in life that set you up for eventual success?

I don’t see anything as a failure. They are all learning and growing opportunities.

What is one book that has influenced your life the most? Why?
